Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program
The Family Resource Center @ Gorham is a designated Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site. Trained volunteers are available to assist low to moderate income families file their taxes for free.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program in Berlin/Gorham encourages low income families to file for free, on-line, with assistance from trained volunteers. This program also encourages participants to apply for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and other tax subsidies for which they may be eligible.
Joanne Yasika and Gregg Woodes, IRS Specialists, present Judy Woodward, FRC VITA site coordinator with an award recognizing Judy's accomplishment in getting the VITA site up and running at the FRC.
