Project Youth

Program Goals:

1.  Raise academic achievement for youth
2.  Improve social/emotional skills and healthy life choices for youth
3.  Increase parent and community engagement with school, afterschool and student learning process

Eligibility any student in 1st-8th grade at Brown, Hillside, Berlin Junior High or Gorham Middle High School

Project Youth provides afterschool, vacation and summer programming at Brown and Hillside Elementary Schools, Berlin Jr. High and Gorham Middle School (grades 1-8).  Each program provides homework assistance staffed by school day teachers and paraprofessionals.  Students participate in academic enrichment activities that connect to school curriculum and include the arts and technology.  The program runs for three hours at the close of the school date.  The program serves approximately 250 students per year.  All students receive a healthy USDA approved snack and most are provided transportation home at the end of the program day.  Project Youth works closely with the Arts Alliance of Northern NH to provide arts experiences through the ArtLinks program.  The programs in Berlin are funded by the NH Dept of Education 21st Century Learning Centers Program.

Fees The programs operate on a sliding fee scale.
