How Can I Help?
The Family Resource Center encourages community members to be part of the Center by becoming a volunteer or by joining a committee. We also offer internship opportunities for college students. We invite you to make a contribution of your time, donate supplies or food for our programs or sponsor a child in one of our Afterschool programs. We also appreciate monetary donations.
- Volunteer Income Tax Assistance – training begins late October early November
- Help low-income families file taxes for free.
- Need Intake volunteers for scheduling appointments, greeting clients as they come in for tax appointments, assist in completing intake form and simple paperwork that goes along with filing taxes.
- Food preparation – we like to provide food for our volunteers and need help in preparing the food and cleaning up after.
- Roll-Your-Change Week
- The FRC holds an event every year encouraging people to roll their change throughout the year and deposit the change during a week in October. Participants can be eligible to win a savings bond when funds are deposited with a participating financial institution. Volunteers are needed for help with marketing, organizing and attending the event.
- Toddler Time is a playgroup for children (ages 0-3) and parents, it is held Tuesday mornings from 9:30 to 11:00 from September to June. Volunteers could assist in planning and surpervising activities
- Do you have a hobby or talent that you would like to share with the students in our Afterschool Programs? We are always looking for people that would like to plan activities and present them to the students.
