Help With Family Finances
The Working Families Program has staff available to work with families on budgeting and money management offers free income tax filing for families making less than $48,000, works with individuals to obtain a free credit report and will provide guidance for credit repair.
- As a partner with NH Community Loan Fund, the Working Families Program takes applications for Individual Development Accounts (IDA’s) and guides clients through the process.
- An IDA is a matched savings account that helps income-eligible people regularly save money toward life-changing goals.
- These can be used to help account holders buy their first home, repair their existing home, capitalize a small business, pursue post-secondary education and training or to purchase an automobile.
- IDA participants are allowed to deposit a maximum of $2,000 that can become $8,000 with the match. Each dollar saved is $3 earned with an IDA.
